NYBD (free) 05:34
Hamid Arshee was a headcase in Afghanistan And he was eager to move wherever he can For a new young broken dream. Well he thought that fireworks bursting into kids balloons Meant that it would all come to pass so soon- All his new young broken dreams Why can't we just tear ourselves away? Theres a jam in god's machine, singing Uh-oh, it's a goon sack and its stuck in tray three Mass producing weapons for you and Hamid Arshee Oh, well it sounded like such a bright fucking idea As the night sticks fall all around our ears And our new young broken dreams Come on! You can come and help spread the seed my friend You can t-t-t-t-take and rape what you need, again In the name of a new young broken dream! Why can't we just all get along? Pack our shit for outer space, singing Uh-oh, how it's not far enough, no, far enough away… Build the walls higher baby, fuck it! Cos here we'll stay! So leave the lights on, leave the lights on, leave the lights on We're staying home Turn the gas on, leave the gas on, leave the gas on And light the flame! But you say they got guns and aeroplanes and now All we got is sacks of cheap champagne (and we fail) How we don't, stand a chance... But we'll do it again! Turn the gas on, leave the gas on, leave the gas on And light the flame But you say they got guns and aeroplanes and now All we got is sacks of cheap champagne (and we fail) How we don't, stand a chance... But we'll do it again!

Mallrats (free) 04:54
We're all so many guns with puppets stuck to our heads They don't like what we do And the trains blow through the station, we can never slow them down No they don't like, no they don't like what we do And there's a woman who's always screaming But she's yelled back at by a man There's a kid lying face first head in his hands Shit, he ain't ever gonna wanna understand So he runs to the far side of town Where he thinks he can find something to blame And now the malls are all aflame Now the malls are all aflame Cause they don't like no, well they don't like what we do! And we're all tripping over each other in a hurry to see the light Hope the party doesn't end before we arrive Now the malls are all on fire Now the malls are all on fire Cause they don't like, they don't like what we do No but we don't like, no we don't like what they do!

Carseldine Hero (free) 06:02
Carseldine Hero steals my thunder but I don't mind Cause I never really had a purpose for you, other than to just be there waiting And I guess now I realise you made me feel a little bit less stranger than the.. Carseldine Hero steals my thunder but I don't mind Cause I know, it wasn't fair for me to go and think of you. But I know I just needed it - I need to feel a bit more I guess now I'm feeling a little sub-bulletproof the scars will certainly show And I'm laughing as my hand built fortresses are slowly crashing to the ground And I never had enough time to see myself in the right kind of light And I guess now I'm feeling a little sub-bulletproof the scars will certainly show Cause I know it was dumb for me to go and think of you But I know I just needed it - I need to feel a bit more

about

The first of a number of home recorded glimpses into The Liar's Chair, Part I: Mallrats showcases this Brisbane (AUS) band's most cohesive yet most diverse material to date.

The track listing moves from the explosive and experimental NYBD, to the indie folk-rock-dance title track Mallrats (which is about toasting marshmallows on the burning embers of your favourite department store), to the moody, atmospheric fan favourite Carseldine Hero.

Thought-provoking lyrics and memorable tunes mix with innovative song structures and gallant genre blends to make The Liar's Chair a powerful force to listen out for.

-----------

Sounds like: Arcade Fire, Muse, Bright Eyes, Explosions in the Sky, Mars Volta, Karnivool, Radiohead
